Seattle Kraken executive Mari Horita says giving back is “not just about cutting checks.”
Though the Kraken’s philanthropic arm, One Roof Foundation, does donate money.
Over the last two seasons of the NHL franchise’s home games, it’s given away nearly 90, $32,000 checks to nonprofit and civic leaders, as well as celebrities making a difference. All told, it’s donated about $2.8 million so far. (Read more here)
