The Seattle Kraken 50/50 Raffle presented by Washington’s Lottery launched at the beginning of the 2022-23 NHL season to help its charitable arm – One Roof Foundation – pursue its mission to advance equity and sustainability by increasing opportunities to thrive for our most vulnerable young people and communities. After each Kraken game at Climate Pledge Arena, half of the proceeds raised during the raffle go to one lucky winner and the other half go to One Roof Foundation.
If you come to a Seattle Kraken home game, you’ll quickly notice a handful of people in red aprons on the concourses, asking you to purchase a raffle ticket. 50/50 Raffle tickets are sold by volunteer ticket sellers who have dedicated their efforts all season long for One Roof Foundation, and the organization is deeply thankful for their assistance. 50/50 Raffle volunteers Sherry & Dawn have quickly become two of the foundation’s most dependable volunteers, displaying exceptional ability to connect with fans, have fun, and support the community. Below is a brief Q&A with the two of them, highlighting their thoughts about the program since in inception.

How did you hear about the opportunity to become a 50/50 Raffle Volunteer?
“Through the Ladies of the Kraken Facebook group.”
What is your favorite thing about volunteering with the 50/50 Raffle program?
“I get the chance to meet so many fun and interesting people, and I’ve made some lifelong friendships.”
What would you say to someone who is thinking about volunteering with the 50/50 Raffle program?
“Don’t hesitate, don’t question it, just do it…you won’t regret it!”
What keeps you coming back to volunteer at Seattle Kraken home games?
“Being able to give back and support the efforts of the One Roof Foundation, meeting new people, and having fun at every game. Plus, the internal competition we have between ticket sellers feeds my competitive nature”

“I heard about this opportunity thru a post on the Ladies of the Kraken page.”
What is your favorite thing about volunteering with the 50/50 Raffle program?
“My favorite thing about volunteering is all the people I have meet and the great friends I have made. All the NHL fans that come from all over to see the Kraken or their visiting team have come with lots of energy and great stories…”
What would you say to someone who is thinking about volunteering with the 50/50 Raffle program?
“One thing I tell people about this great opportunity to volunteer is you will have a lot of fun, meet a lot of great people, but most of all you’re giving back to your community.”
What keeps you coming back to volunteer at Seattle Kraken home games?
“All of the above keeps me coming back plus working with One Roof Foundation staff, they make this experience a fun time… This whole season of selling has been a lot of fun and I will volunteer as long as you need me!”

Support One Roof Foundation during the 2022-2023 NHL Season by participating in our 50/50 Raffle at Climate Pledge Arena! Fans over the age of 18 may purchase raffle tickets at Seattle Kraken home games from the time doors open until the end of the second intermission. Tickets can be purchased at stationary kiosks and from adult volunteer ticket sellers throughout the concourses of Climate Pledge Arena. One winning ticket will be selected at random during the 3rd period of each game, with the winner receiving half of the proceeds from the raffle, and One Roof Foundation receiving the other half!
