The inaugural Kraken Training Camp opened Thursday, signaling an NHL regular-season start that is tantalizingly close.

To celebrate, the Kraken’s and Climate Pledge Arena’s philanthropic arm, One Roof Foundation, is launching its first-ever “Anchor Auction” over the next two weeks of preseason practices and games. One Roof Foundation represents the Kraken and Climate Pledge Arena’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and positive social impact. All funds raised through the auction will go towards fulfilling One Roof Foundation’s vision of a more equitable society and a healthy planet where all people can realize a brighter future.

Beginning Friday, fans can bid on any number of attractive items, including 100 tickets (in varying packages with exclusive items) at a range of price points to be in Climate Pledge Arena seats Oct. 23 when the Kraken hosts Vancouver for Seattle’s first NHL home opener. The auction will be open for bidding from Sep. 25 to Oct. 9th. The website is onerooffoundation.org/auction.

This first Anchor Auction introduces fans to the platform that will be used for in-game auctions throughout the season. Other Anchor Auction headline items include an away game package of airfare and game tickets for the Nov. 6 road game against the Arizona Coyotes; an all-inclusive suite package for the April Fool’s home game against Vegas; a curling event with Kraken radio broadcaster Everett Fitzhugh; and a once-in-a-lifetime VIP opportunity for attending Climate Pledge Arena’s grand-opening, historic Coldplay concert Oct. 22.

“Our fans will have the opportunity to participate in auctions for so many pieces of commemorative gear and unique fan experiences during our first season,” said Tod Leiweke, Kraken CEO. “The best part is every dollar goes back to our community and helps One Roof Foundation achieve its mission of ensuring all kids have a roof over their head, clean air to breathe and safe places to play.”

This includes support for One Roof Foundation’s work in and with historically underserved and BIPOC communities to bring ball hockey to Seattle-area schools, nonprofits and community centers, plus ensuring broad and equitable access to ice time and programming at the Kraken Community Iceplex in the city’s Northgate neighborhood. In addition to the aforementioned items, pre-game worn warmup jerseys from each 3-Rink-Rush game will be released in three flash auctions, open for a limited time. The proceeds of these jerseys will be allocated in partnership with the Seattle Thunderbirds, Everett Silvertips, and Spokane Chiefs to support access to hockey across Washington State and in Portland.

“Access to the Kraken Community Iceplex is an important piece of this work, helping kids develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and opening up a new world of possibilities from lacing up skates for the first time to playing hockey at elite levels to making the U.S. Olympic figure skating team.”

Fans can fuel the mission and ice dreams starting with Saturday’s opening of the Anchor Auction. Items are available for viewing now here!

“I hope that one day, with the support of One Roof Foundation’s access programs, a child who might not have otherwise had the opportunity to experience hockey, will grow up to play in the NHL,” said Leiweke. “Or maybe that child becomes a future CEO of the Seattle Kraken.”
